Technology businesses, particularly those in the US that are VC-backed, are accelerating at a rapid pace. And, looking back at the past 12 months, I see that RangeMe is part of that exponential acceleration journey. It’s extraordinary to think our marketplace now has more than 20,000 suppliers with over 80,000 products in such a short time!

RangeMe recently moved to our own headquarters in San Francisco, the epicentre of the tech business world. I have to pinch myself that the team of incredibly talented individuals to fill the office space is a reality, not a dream. We’ve had many who have joined us from other highly successful tech businesses in the area like Facebook, Prezi, Quri, Salesforce, StyleSeat, ToutApp, SmartRecruiters and Liftopia to name a few! I’m star struck when I walk through the city, past Slack, EventBrite, Pinterest, Twitter and other offices in our area, and think “this is the company that RangeMe now keeps!”

Bryan and Aaron on the road training buying teams

Bryan and Aaron on the road!

San Francisco is a highly energetic tech epicentre, people here are incredibly motivated, driven, and talk the talk that fosters entrepreneurship. So many conversations here with colleagues, investors or like-minded people in tech often involve terms like bootstrapping, B2B, B2C, burn rate, churn, first-mover advantage, disruptive technology, gamify, iterate, MVP, monetization, ROI, runway, MRR, lifetime value, cost per acquisition, hypergrowth and on and on. Thankfully, I am very well versed in this new language and the world of hypergrowth. I can now watch an episode of the comedy ‘Silicon Valley’ and giggle at how far fetched yet true it really is! In fact, a couple of our guys, Bryan and Aaron, were recently out training a team of buyers in the Midwest and they were told they look like the guys from the show–very Silicon Valley-tech, wearing their company swag and presenting the future of CPG product discovery.

All jokes aside, I am incredibly proud of our team and our new office. I am even prouder of the retail partnerships we have and the suppliers and buyers that interact daily on our site daily finding real value in what we have to offer. Ultimately, RangeMe is expediting the way products are being discovered by retailers and giving emerging brands the chance to change the course of their professional journey. Many of these companies may end up being acquired one day by a multi-billion dollar company thanks to the retail doors opened through RangeMe–keeping both their and my dreams well and truly alive!

Outside the SLACK and Eventbrite offices in 2014 before RangeMe moved to the U.S. Little did I know about 12 months later I would be invited into the Eventbrite office to meet the founder Kevin Hart and that he would invest in RangeMe!
